My major research responsibilities have been in the areas of International Trade, Economics of Aquaculture, the Effects of Aflatoxin on the marketing of peanuts in Ghana and Benin, the Economics of Soil Conservation and Economic Development. I have been a graduate advisor for Ph.D. and Master's of Agricultural Economics and Allied Aquaculture and Fisheries students. I served on the graduate committees for over 50 students in the Auburn University, College of Agriculture and schools of Human Sciences and Forestry and Wildlife Sciences. I also advised and mentored, on average, 12 undergraduate students per year. I have been the course master for Agricultural Policy and World Trade, Economics of Aquaculture I&II, and Agricultural Economic Development.

Most of my time was spent on teaching International Trade, Economics of Aquaculture and Economic Development. My major research agenda has focused primarily on International Trade Peanut Marketing, Economics of Aquaculture and Sustainable Agriculture, Global Warming and Climate. A considerable amount of my time was devoted to international programs activities and contracts. I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and I also supervised the research work of graduate students.
- Assistant Professor, 1980 - 87 - Auburn University
I was appointed to the Auburn faculty in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology in 1980. My initial assignment was in the area of International Programs under Strengthening Grant-Title XII. This involved a great deal of international travel, including visits to Sierra Leone in January to February 1981 to evaluate small scale aquaculture and to prepare a project paper; to Ivory Coast in February 1981 to monitor and evaluate an on-going Auburn project; and to Rome and the FAO headquarters to develop professional linkages with other economists actively involved in the field of aquaculture. During this period, I prepared course materials for and taught short courses in Aquacultural Economics.

Management and Administrative Experience
I was trained as a National Youth Leader and served as Youth Advisor to the Bishop of the Diocese of Roseau (Dominica, Antigua, Barbuda and Monsterrat). I was a Managerial Trainee at Geest Industries from 1969 to 1970, a multinational corporation, in the Windward Islands. Geest Industries was the largest banana and fruit producing and shipping company in the Windward Islands. The company employed more than 400 workers and farmed about 3,800 acres of bananas, grapefruits, pineapples and coconuts. I gained first hand experience in Field and Labor Supervision, Office Management, and Administration. The company conducted about $500,000 worth of business a week. At the Jamaica School of Agriculture, I organized a trip and raised funds to take a group of 8 students to an agricultural field trip to Belize, Panama, Mexico, Salvador, and Costa Rica in 1973. In Senegal, I was in charge of the Southern Regional Macroeconomic-Unit in the Department of Farming Systems and Technology Transfer at the Institut Senegalais de Recherche Agricoles (ISRA). ISRA is the largest Agricultural Research Institute in Francophone Africa. My team was comprised of 17 staff members. My annual budget was in the vicinity of $200,000 per annum, and was funded by USAID, The World Bank, the Government of Senegal, and Cooperation Francaise. I also served as Deputy Chief of Party for a short time for the Base Casamance¯- a $23,000,000 project with 19 expatriate technicians. I was Deputy Chief of Party for the Mali $19,000,000 project, and served as Team Leader for a SECID/Auburn University Evaluation Team of the Zaire Sector Planning Project in 1985. I have taken a number of courses in the principles of management and project planning and evaluation.
Teaching
I have been teaching for more than 25 years. I have received training as a primary school teacher, and have years of experience at all rungs of the education ladder. I am familiar with the various forms of information diffusion and scholarly activities.
Extension and Outreach
I have been trained as an extension worker at the Jamaica School of Agriculture. I have taken courses at the undergraduate level in Principles of Extension, Communication Arts, and Rural Sociology. I served as Field Extension Agent in Dominica in 1973. I have worked in multi-disciplinary teams alongside extension workers. At the graduate level I have taken courses in Extension Methods. I have conducted applied field research with extension personnel. I served on the 1990-1991 SACS Committee as Liaison Officer for the Outreach, Extension and Service Committee. I am familiar with Extension and outreach program planning.
