HAITI
- Soil Management CRSP
Co-principal investigator of the soil management CRSP from 1996 to 2001-conduced services on adoption and management of soil conservation practices. A study on self-efficacy and farmers perception of soil conservation techniques was conducted during this period.
- Peanut CRSP
Principal investigator of Peanut CRSP in Haiti, 1998 to 1999. Consumer preference studies (sensory evaluation and economic evaluation of peanut attributes) were conducted in Haiti under the peanut CRSP program, 2000-2004.
- Plus Project
Conducted marketing study of agricultural products in Northwest Haiti, 1991-1994. Field trips to Haiti in June - July, 1992, and December, 1992 under an Auburn University/SECID project. Prepared document on the Marketing of Agricultural Products in the Northwest of Haiti. Provided technical assistance to the Auburn/SECID Plus project in data collection and analysis.

1995- Served as Rural Economist as member of an Evaluation team-Evaluated a $16 million jobs Program.

GHANA & BENIN
- Peanut CRSP
The effects of aflatoxin on the marketing of peanuts in Ghana and Benin were evaluated. A survey on aflatoxin on producers and consumers of groundnuts was initiated in Ghana.

- Research Planning
Provided technical support to an Auburn/USAID funded project in Rwanda. Prepared 1992 data collection instruments and designed a marketing study.

1990 I traveled on a Fact Finding Mission to the islands to collect information for proposal development for the West Indies Tropical Food Crops Project. Developed informal linkages with professionals from the University of the West Indies and several other Non-Governmental Organizations.

- Research Planning and Implementation
Farming Systems Economist, Worked as a member of an Auburn University/SECID team assisting the Institut de l`Economie Rurale, Division de Systeme de Production, Bamako, Mali. Aided the Mali Farming Systems Division in the development of a farming systems program in Bamako, Kati and Koulikoro districts of the Haute Valley Region; Deputy Chief of party for 19 million dollar project. Advisor to the Director of the Institut de l`Economie Rural.
3/86 Short term consultant to Institut de l`Economie Rural, Mali under an Auburn University/SECID Project to participate in an annual research commission to review their research proposals.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO 8/85 - 9/85
- Project Identification and Planning
Agricultural Economist/Planner, Served as team leader and represented Auburn University on a USAID project in Zaire to evaluate the Agricultural Sector Studies project. Evaluated the quality of analysis that the technicians in the Division of Strategy and Planning provided the Zairian Ministry of Agriculture. Verified the soundness of the project design. Assessed the progress toward the end of the project status. Reviewed Government of Zaire actions to establish the Studies and Planning Division as a permanent functioning agency within the Ministry of Agriculture. Prepared a Project Identification Document (PID) for the Agricultural Policy Studies Project. The Southeastern Consortium for International Development of which Auburn University was a member and a long term project in Zaire in 1989. Auburn University provided technical support to this project.
SENEGAL 1/82 - 6/85
- Research Implementation
Research Economist, Represented Auburn University and served as Macro-economist and Head of Macro-economic Unit at the Senegalese National Institute of Agricultural Research. Conducted research with a multi-disciplinary team in the Department of Production Systems and Transfer of Technology. Research involved critical analysis of previous research reports and available data, field surveys and interviews of rural households and production units. Economic and social data collected were analyzed in view of understanding production, consumption and macro-economic research in the Casamance region of Senegal. Coordinated studies in micro/macro linkages and managed a team of 16 with a budget of $200,000 a year. Deputy Chief of Party for a 13 man expatriate team and a budget of $23 million. SECID latter won a Forestry and Environment project which is still ongoing.

2004- Evaluated the University of Connecticut and Ecole National Appliquée projected, funded, by the United States International Agency.

- 1987 Project Evaluation and Planning
Served as marketing Economist to evaluate and plan a second phase of a USAID/AFRICARE project.
SIERRA LEONE
- 1981 Project Evaluation and Identification
Evaluated Small Scale Fisheries Project funded by USAID. Developed a Project Identification Document (PID) with professionals from the Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures, Auburn University.
IVORY COAST

Visited the USAID Mission to review Evaluation Report and present PID developed for Small Scale Aquaculture in Sierra Leone.

IVORY COAST
- 1994 Trainner
Served as organizer, curriculum developer and trainer/facilitator for an Feb./March 1994 Auburn University/USAID Africa Bureau/USDA/FAS/CD/ED workshop on Agribusiness Strategic Planning and Development for small business participants from eight African countries. The purpose of this workshop was to encourage participants from these countries to buy U. S. agricultural products, including tools, machinery and other equipment. This workshop was funded under an Auburn University/USAID/USDA contract.
MADAGASCAR
- Trainning
Served as planner and instructor for an Auburn University/The USAID Sept./Oct. 1994 Africa Bureau/USDA/FAS/ICD/ED/IITA/ILEA workshop for 31 small agri-business professionals on strategic planning. The purpose of this workshop was to interest the Madagascan participants in doing business with U.S. firms. This workshop was funded under an Auburn University USAID/USDA contract.
HAITI

Developed joint proposal with Tuskegee University and Alabama A&M University for the training of 15 Haitians agricultural technicians. The 1993 project was funded by USAID. I helped develop the program and taught the section on agricultural marketing. This workshop was funded under a USAID/Auburn University contract.
