The Ag Econ Club
is a fairly new organization to Auburn's campus and to the College of Agriculture.
The club is designed to allow students in Agricultural Business and Economics
the opportunity to meet fellow students and develop friendships that will
last a lifetime. In addition to meeting fellow students, members
also develop their potential for leadership through leadership positions
and activities.
Speakers from various organizations
and companies will frequent Ag Econ Club meetings and inform the members
about possibilities in different areas of agriculture and agribusiness.
We believe that by allowing students the opportunity to explore their options,
we are enhancing their ability and knowledge to make the proper decision
when it comes time to accept a job offer. Not only do we allow students
to see the options available, but we also give them experience that will
aid them throughout their professional and personal lives.
The members of the Ag Econ Club also believe in helping others around them. Not only does this include fellow students, but also members of the community around us who may have certain needs that we can help with. One example of a community project the Ag Econ Club is involved with is the collection of presents at Christmas time for disadvantaged children. Members donate the presents and then they are passed on to Project Uplift which takes on the task of presenting the gifts to children all around the community. The philosophy of the Ag Econ Club is that to fully develop our potential as decent human beings, we must first help others around us. If you would like to become involved with the Ag Econ Club in anyway, feel free to let us know. We will gladly assist you in anyway possible!
