Internships

Internships, which give excellent on-the-job educational experiences, are available for College of Agriculture students in all majors.

Internships are great for both students because they let you:

  • See what a particular line of employment might be like.
  • Work for a semester with no future commitment to the employer.
  • Find out if the work is something that you want to choose as a life-long career or not at all what you expected.

Employers like to sponsor internships because it helps them identify potential full-time employees.

Internship positions are competitive. Employers come to campus to conduct interviews just as they would for full-time employment.

Academic credit—up to four hours for each internship—is available for students who complete internships. Some students have two or more internships during their college years.

Internships can include excellent financial rewards (earned income and travel expenses, for example) and other benefits (such as use of a company car).
