What is the purpose of learning communities?
National research has shown that learning communities are
an effective tool in improving student performance and student retention.
We are using learning communities to help you be as successful as
possible while at Auburn University . |
What is the College of Agriculture
Learning Community ?
The College of Agriculture Learning Community is a
group of 15 to 20 students who will be enrolled together in a
series of classes throughout their freshman year. |
What is the Pre-Vet Learning Community?
The Pre-Vet Learning Community is a group of 20 to 25 students
who will be enrolled together in a series of classes throughout their
freshman year. |
Why was I sent a letter about the College of Agriculture or
Pre-Vet Learning Community?
If you indicated on your application to the Admissions Office
that you would like to major in the College of Agriculture and you paid the admissions deposit, you were eligible to
receive a letter. |
Are learning communities only for students entering with low
high school GPA's or ACT/SAT scores?
NO! The College of Agriculture and Pre-Vet Learning Communities are for ANY freshman
entering the College of Agriculture. |
When is the deadline to sign up?
If you are interested, you must submit your application
form and paragraph online by the deadline, which can be found on the main page of the Learning Communities Web site. |
If I respond will I be accepted?
After the deadline, participants will be selected and notified.
It is possible that you will indicate your desire to participate
and not be selected. |
Will I still have to register for classes if I am enrolled
in the College of Agriculture or Pre-Vet Learning Community?
YES. Each semester you will need to register for additional
courses. We will enroll you in only 8 hours, which is not enough
to be considered a full-time student. |
