5th Regional LEAD Conference

Leadership workshops are an integral part of every ag ambassador conference. Saturday morning's leadership workshop series will feature leadership workshops covering several different topics important to all ambassadors. Look over these workshops and select two that interest you. The current agenda allows each attendee the opportunity to experience two of these enhancing workshops. • Workshop A - Ag Ambassador Idea Swap
Have you ever had problems in your Ag Ambassador programs? Want some new ideas for doing things? This is an interactive session facilitated by seasoned ambassadors focused on meeting your needs. (Presented by Ag Ambassadors Erin Hunter and Kim Cline)


• Workshop B - Time Uses and Abuses

Do you ever feel like you are caught in a time trap and can’t get out? This dynamic, engaged session focuses on tested principles and approaches to enable you to be a smart user of time and gain control of your life. Taught by the Director of the Blue Ridge Conference for Leadership and Learning Institute, you won’t want this session to stop. (Presented by Hope Stockton, Executive Director of Blue Ridge Learning Institute)


• Workshop C - Low and High Ropes Adventures
Got confidence? Do you like challenges? Learn more about yourself, others and how to become a more effective problem-solver through hands-on experiences on the AU Center for Leadership Connections Leadership Response Course. This session is facilitated by the Coordinator of the newly constructed Leadership Ropes Course, along with officers in training. (Presented by Laura Herring and Army ROTC cadets certified in Project Adventure) *Attendees of this workshop may be able to participate only in this one workshop instead of two.


• Workshop D - Let Leadership Launch Your Career

Are Ag Ambassadors born or made? Do you ever wonder why some goals are never achieved? Are you struggling to balance class demands and other pressures? Do you feel overworked and overwhelmed? Have you wondered how you can become a more effective leader? Are you ever so busy that you forget where you’re going? Learn principles that when applied, will improve the effectiveness of your life. In this session you will be challenged to discover actions that will lead to a: renewed sense of direction and balance to your life, understanding how to accomplish your goals with greater productivity, ability to work with others and form strong team unity, and practice influence in key relationships. (Presented by Don Mulvaney, Director of AU Ag Leadership Studies)


• Workshop E - Exemplary Practices of Leaders
What is holding you back from becoming the leader you can become? How can you achieve your personal best? What are the practices of people that exhibit exemplary leadership. These individuals interact with others in a manner that inspires commitment and dedication to the pursuit of group or organizational goals. Find out how to use these practices to increase cooperation and enhance the performance of others you may work with. (Presented by Sarah Skipper, Program Advisor for Student Organizations and Volunteer Clearinghouse)


• Workshop F - RAMP-Up For Success
The RAMPS Plan to Marketing Success© is a simple, step-by-step guide for planning and implementing a complex, multi-faceted process. Developed in 1983, The RAMPS Plan© has been used extensively by individuals in a multitude of industries. This presentation explains the role of marketing in business and how it affects profits. The concepts presented in The RAMPS Plan© can be applied to organizations, departments, projects, and personal endeavors. (Presented by Dr. Jackie DiPofi, Director of the Small Business Development Center at Auburn University)


• Workshop G - Advisor Workshop
This workshop will give Ag Ambassador advisors an opportunity to share ideas, compare programs, and discuss future plans for LEAD and other upcoming events. (Presented by Deborah Solie)
