Faculty and Staff

The College of Agriculture has 164 faculty, including

  • 2 Alumni Professors,
  • 2 Eminent Scholars, and
  • 3 Distinguished University Professors.
The College of Agriculture is the only recipient of the AU Student Government Association’s Outstanding Faculty Advisement award.

College/AAES Honor Top Faculty and Staff in Awards Program

Four Auburn University College of Agriculture faculty members have earned top awards from the college and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station in recognition of their outstanding efforts in teaching, advising, and research:

  • David Weaver, agronomy and soils professor, 2008 Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence;
  • Bill Hardy, professor in the agricultural economics and rural sociology department and former associate dean for the college, 2008 Dean’s Award for Advising Excellence;
  • Jacek Wower, animal sciences professor of biochemistry and molecular biology. Senior Researcher Award; and
  • Puneet Srivastava, associate professor in biosystems engineering, 2008 Junior Researcher Award.

Four faculty members, who have excelled in obtaining research dollars through extramural grants and contracts, received Grantsmanship Awards:

  • Bill Daniels and Allen Davis, associate professors in fisheries and allied aquacultures,
  • David Bransby, agronomy and soils professor, and
  • Bill Moar, entomology professor.

Five outstanding College of Ag and AAES staff and administrative/professional employees were honored as the 2008 Employees of the Year. The five were

  • John Olive, director of the AAES Ornamental Horticulture Research Center in Mobile,
  • Mary Hahn, entomology and plant pathology accountant,
  • Bobby Epling, biosystems engineering electronics technician,
  • Karl Hayden, a research associate in fisheries and allied aquacultures, and
  • Glen Davis, construction and heavy machine operator in the Agricultural Land and Resource Management office.
