Points for consideration in reviewing an AAES project or project proposals:
  1. Will this research make a significant contribution to the priority needs of the State and research goals of the AAES?
  2. Will the research make the best use of the project leader's talents and interests?
  3. Does the proposal describe research that can be accomplished within the time specified using the manpower, equipment, and funds expected to be available?
  4. Will execution of the project as proposed contribute to the professional growth of the project leader and to the prestige of the department, college/school, AAES, and Auburn University?
  5. Does the project proposal present a significant research problem and an approach of sufficient quality such that expected results will be worthy of publication?
  6. Is the project proposal well written and editorially correct? (Every effort will be made to address editorial problems outside any scheduled review session, so that priority may be given to evaluating the quality of the proposed research during the review.)
  7. Has the researcher completed research from previous projects and published results thereof in scientific journals and other media in a timely manner, thus evidencing potential for sustained productivity output from the proposed project?
  8. Have other potential cooperators been identified for participation in the project to facilitate a more productive team approach to the research problem?
  9. Are sufficient appropriated and extramural funds likely to be available to permit successful execution of the project? Will execution of the project increase competitiveness and enhance opportunities for securing additional extramural support?
  10. Is the proposed research already being done in another university and, if adequately investigated elsewhere, would results be applicable in Alabama?
