The 2008 Fishing Tournament will be Thursday, May 21, beginning at 7 a.m. at the 20-acre “VIP Pond” at the E.W. Shell Fisheries Center in north Auburn. Breakfast will be served prior to the tournament. Anglers can keep fish six pounds and larger and have fish nine-plus pounds mounted. Prizes will be awarded for the largest stringer and largest single in both bass and bream.

Proceeds from the fishing tournament will go to the Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures.

Directions to the site: From I-85, take Exit 51. Go north on Highway 29 through Auburn. Cross Shug Jordan Parkway and turn left onto County Road 72. After 1 mile, turn right onto Auburn Lakes Road. Pong s6 is on the left.
