Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence:

Guidelines for Nomination

The following information should be provided for each candidate who is nominated.

 

1. Letter of nomination from Department Head (Chair).  Provide complete explanation of how candidate has excelled in responsibilities associated with teaching.

 

2. Summary of professional activities, with emphasis placed on those related to teaching and  other direct interaction with students. 

 

3. Examples of innovative materials (if any) that nominee has created relative to teaching responsibilities.

4. Examples of innovative approaches (if any) to teaching.

 

5. Examples of new courses developed (if any).

 

6. List of student organizations that nominee has advised.  Explain responsibilities as advisor.

 

7. Brief curriculum vita, documenting academic credentials and overall experience in teaching.

 

8. Other professional accomplishments.

 

9. Additional information that nominee feels is relevant to evaluation of teaching performance.
