Faculty/Staff Awards Program

Faculty Awards

All College of Agriculture faculty are eligible for the following awards:

• Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence

• Dean’s Award for Advising Excellence

• The Guthrie Award for Achievement in International Agriculture

• Dean’s Grantsmanship Award 

• AAES Director’s Research Awards (1 Jr., 1 Sr.)

The Director’s Award for Research has two categories:
--the Director’s Research Award for Junior Faculty and
--the Director’s Research Award for Senior Faculty.

All assistant professors are eligible for the Director’s Research Award for Junior Faculty, while all associate professors and professors are eligible for the Director’s Research Award for Senior Faculty.

Recipients will be awarded $2,000 and a plaque.

Employee Awards

• Diversity Award

All administrative/professional and staff employees of the College of Agriculture are eligible for this award. Recipient will be awarded $250 and a certificate.

Nominations for the Diversity Award will be reviewed and decisions made by the Awards Committee comprised of members of the College of agriculture Diversity Committee.

• Employee of the Year awards

All administrative/professional and staff employees of the College of Agriculture and Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station research centers are eligible for technical and administrative awards. Recipients will be awarded $750 and a certificate.

Nominations will be reviewed and decisions made by the Awards Committee, which includes Denise Smith (chair), Jane Farr (Superintendent), Don Conner (department head representative), Katie Hardy (A/P representative) and Linda Newton (University Staff representative).

Due Date for 2010 Awards

Applications are due by close of business on Friday, October 29, 2010, to the Dean’s Office.

Announcement of Award Recipients

Winners of all awards will be announced at the College of Ag Meeting in November (date to be announced).
