Registration is $10 per person, which includes lunch. The meeting, co-sponsored by AAES and ACES, is open to the public.
Arnold Caylor, superintendent of the North Alabama Horticulture Research and Extension Center (NAHREC) in Cullman and leader of an organic farming research project, AU plant pathologist Joe Kloepper and rural sociologist Joe Molnar, both of whom organized last year's conference, will make presentations at the meeting, as will Alex Hitt, a North Carolina organic grower who will share practical how-tos of organic production based on his 20 years' experience.
Tentative plans are for the conference to wrap up with a tour of the NAHREC's organic research plots.
More on the conference and a registration form can be found online at http://frontpage.auburn.edu/ausare/orgveg. Pre-registration is requested but not required.
