Had Katie Jackson taken her video cam along, and had she kept it focused on these birds a little while, she very well could have claimed her place in history as the woman who solved that deep, age-old mystery: Why did the chicken cross the road? Or, at least, why the Cuban chicken did it. But alas, she'd only packed the digital for her recent trip to Havana, so now we may never know. Jackson, head of the Office of Ag Communications and Marketing and the latest Picture This! winner, traveled to Cuba recently with a group of Alabama political and business leaders on a mission to explore future trade relations with the Caribbean island country. Other Auburn University representatives on the trip were Joe Touchton, agronomy and soils department head and professor; Beth Guertal, agronomy and soils professor; and Camille Barkley, marketing coordinator for Auburn's Office of Communications and Marketing.
