This week's spectacular Picture This! winner, submitted by agronomy and soils GIS specialist Donn Rodekohr, is all but guaranteed to take your breath away. Rodekohr photographed the amazing scene a couple of years ago while in Orange Beach for the Alabama Water Resources Conference that Auburn's environmental institute hosts annually. As a scientist Rodekohr investigates the interface between soil and water to find better ways to manage the two natural resources. In a message sent in with the entry, Rodekohr said that this picture illustrates “the waves of controversies that we need to address within the state of Alabama." Maybe so, but for the rest of us, it's a beautiful place for a daydream.
