Mission

The College of Agriculture at Auburn University is dedicated to educating people and discovering knowledge that improves the lives of all Alabama citizens through our research, instruction, and outreach programs.
History

Throughout its 132-year history, the College has helped advance Alabama’s agricultural economy while improving the nutrition, health, and standard of living for all citizens. View important dates in the history of the College.

Location & Directions


The main offices of the College of Agriculture are located in Comer Hall, which is on the east side of the Auburn campus.

Students = 874 undergraduates; 207 graduates (Fall 2004)
• ACT scores for students in the College of Agriculture are in the top 40 percent of the entire university average.
• College of Agriculture students come from virtually every state in the nation and more than 70 foreign countries.
• The Department of Horticulture has placed every one of its graduates in a job for two decades.
• More than 95 percent of the domestic AU College of Ag alumni who responded to a recent survey reported that they received good job offers either prior to or shortly after graduation.
• Each year, students from the College’s Department of Animal Sciences make up at least half of the AU College of Veterinary medicine freshmen class. Of the 47 incoming in-state students in the 2004 freshman class, 30 were in the animal sciences program.

• The College of Agriculture is the only recipient of the AU Student Government Association’s Outstanding Faculty Advisement award.

Scholarships = 227 students (27.3 percent) received scholarships in 2004
• AU's College of Agriculture has the second largest scholarship program, both in number of awards and monetary value, on the Auburn campus.
• Scholarships range from full-tuition awards to grants of $100 to $1,000 from organizations and individuals.
• $743,986 in scholarships were awarded in 2004, including $442,042 in College of Agriculture scholarships and $301,944 in University scholarships.
