Departments and Units

The College of Agriculture has eight academic departments offering 11 undergraduate majors with 23 options as well as several multidisciplinary majors. Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology: The department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology focuses on social and economic fields of study through its teaching, research and extension.

Agronomy and Soils: agronomy is the science of soil management, including crop production and the environment. more->

Animal Sciences: The Department of Animal Sciences serves Alabama as well as the nation’s needs. more ->

Biosystems Engineering: Biosystems Engineering is the department that combines biology with engineering.

Entomology and Plant Pathology: Entomology and Plant Pathology at Auburn University enjoys a rich tradition. more->

Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures: Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures has one of the top aquaculture programs in the world.

Horticulture: The Department of Horticulture is proud of our teaching tradition and our research and outreach programs.

Poultry Science: Explore the Department of Poultry Science website and learn more about our dynamic programs. The food science program is also housed in the poultry science department.

In addition, the college is affiliated with several initiatives and centers including the Auburn University Food Systems Initiative, National Poultry Technology Center and Center for Bioenergy and Bioproducts.
