At the 6th Annual Organic Production Conference in Andalusia, AL in November, we held a session titled: Meeting Research and Information Needs of Alabama’s Small-Scale Low Input and Organic Farmers. Justin Ellis, graduate student at the University of Georgia, acted as the facilitator. There were approximately 32 participants in the session. The group spent about 45-60 minutes developing the list of research priorities listed below and then narrowed down the list where areas of overlap were identified. We then held a voting process during which each individual cast votes for those items that were “the most important for advancing organic agriculture in Alabama”.
If you have any additional research priorities that you would like to have your land grant research institutions address, or if you would like to vote for one of those on the list let us hear from you.
Thanks, Jan & Dee
