POLICY FOR HATCH RENEWAL

1. Faculty and their Department Heads/Chairs will be notified by email in October of the terminal year of a Hatch Project that it will expire at the end of the fiscal year (September 30). Projects and their dates of termination are listed on the AAES website: (www.ag.auburn.edu/adm/faculty-staff/exmurfund/Projects.htm).

2. Project outlines should follow guidelines and use forms linked from http://www.ag.auburn.edu/adm/faculty-staff/exmurfund/hatchprocess.htm

3. New projects must be submitted to Department Heads/Chairs by April 1 of the last year of the project. If a project is to be extended for one year, the request must be made by this date.

4. The Department Heads/Chairs are requested to have the internal reviews completed and submitted to the Executive Associate Director by May 15.

5. The Executive Associate Director will send the project out for ad hoc reviews around May 15 and request a three week return. This will allow time for revisions of the project if necessary. The new project should be ready to be submitted to CRIS by July 1. This should give CRIS time to get projects approved by the September 30 USDA deadline.
